Didn't Get It Done

TR East 4, TR South 3: The host Indians (3-2, 2-2 in A South) fell to the Raiders (3-0, 3-0) yesterday as East held on for the win - getting South's hostest hitter - Joe Talerico - to ground out with two men on to end the game.

Sophomore righthander Tyler Gebler (2-1) took the loss despite striking out 5, walking 1 and scattering 8 hits.

After falling behind in the top of the 1st, 2-0 on a two-run Sean Galvin homer, South rallied back to score two in the bottom half of the inning. A Joe Talerico triple down the right-field line was followed by a Ryan Kapp RBI single. Kapp then scored when East centerfielder Brady Doyle misplayed a single by Gebler.

East took the lead 3-2 in the top of the 5th on a squeeze bunt by Chris Wedding. They tacked on a fourth run in the sixth when Galvin, who had walked, came around to score on an infield ground out.

South cut the lead to 4-3 on a fielders choice ground out by Perry - scoring Talerico who had walked to lead off the inning.

South travels to Lacey on Friday for its next Shore Conference Class A South contest.
