Back for 2006!
Hello all high school and Toms River High School South baseball fans.
It's been a few months (well about 9) since I've last checked in, but it is that time of year again - high school baseball time!
With almost one week of practice under our belt (we started Friday March 3rd), the Toms River South Indians will host defending NJSIAA Group III state champs Monmouth Regional tomorrow at 3:45 p.m. at Ken Frank Baseball Stadium.
The Indians once again will be coached by legendary coach Ken Frank, along with myself (Mitch Powitz), 1987 grad Chris Applegate and 1999 grad and former Florida Marlins minor leaguer Charlie Frazier.
Also today, we heard some interesting news - as Charlie's younger brother Jeff went 1 for 2 playing for the Detroit Tigers in a spring training game against the New York Yankees.
So buckle up, its gonna be an interesting ride here in 2006!
