In a rematch of the 2008 Shore Conference Baseball Championship, the Indians came out on top again in this scrimmage against the Bulldogs.
Junior righthander Rich Gabriel threw five shutout innings for South as a sac fly by senior Joe Patterson made it 1-0 in the first and a solo homer by Dan Davis increased the lead to 2-0 in the fourth. Davis would later add an RBI double.
Junior lefty Andrew McGee came on the close out the win as South allowed one unearned run in the seventh inning.
South hosts Colts Neck on Friday, March 27th and defending Group III champs Old Tappan on Saturday. The Indians will open the regular season at Jackson on April 2nd.
