Opening Day 2009

Jackson 2, TR South 1 (12 Inn) - The Indians fell in extra innings as the Jaguars came out victorious at Larry D'Zio field.

Junior lefty Andy McGee and senior righty Tyler Gebler combined to pitch 12 strong innings, but it would be the Indians offense in the end which didn't come through to put them on the board.

South jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first after sophomore Kyle Perry doubled to lead off the game, moved to third on a ground out and scored on a ground out.

Jackson tied it at one in the third inning with three straight singles.

The Indians squandered chances in several innings as McGee finished 7 strong innings. Gebler came on in the eighth and pitched well enough to win through the 9th, 10th and 11th, until Jackson scored in the 12th. They converted after a one-out walk and two consecutive singles - scoring on a fielders choice grounder to second base.

South will host Brick Memorial on Saturday at 11 a.m.
