TRS bounces back

TR South 8, Southern 2: The Indians earned their first win of the season as senior righthander Tyler Gebler pitched seven strong innings to notch his 20th career high school victory.
Gebler (1-1) struck out seven, walked none and scattered five hits on his way to becoming the 12th TR South pitcher to reach the 20-win career milestone.
Senior rightfielder Joe Patterson and sophomore first baseball Dave Egeland paced the offense for the Indians (1-3 overall, 1-3 in A South). Patterson, who collected four RBI, dropped in an RBI double in first inning to start the scoring and ended it with a two-run homer in the sixth inning. Egeland, who was two for three, drilled a long solo homer in the fourth inning. Senior Marco Carballo added an RBI triple in the second inning. Gebler was also two for three at the plate.
Losing pitcher Jim Engle was three for three with a two-run homer in the sixth for the Rams (1-3).
