Back from Florida
Greeting all TR South Baseball followers:
We return from Florida having won three of our last four games - including two of three at the baseball complex in Fort Pierce, FL.
Before we departed, we defeated Southern Regional 8-2 for our first win of the season.
We then went on to defeat Batavia, NY 3 to 2 and then St. Mary's Ryken of Md. 3-0. Senior righty Tyler Gebler won the Southern & Batavia games, marking career wins 20 and 21 for him. He becomes the 12th TR South pitcher to join the illustrious 20-win club. Gebler also drilled a long, two-run homer against Batavia.
Junior lefty Andy McGee pitched the game of his career against St. Mary's, allowing just two baserunners and posting his first career no-hitter. McGee struck out 10 and walked none as he improved his 2009 record to 1-1.
South will play at Lacey Tuesday, at Brick Wednesday and at Brick Memorial on Thursday night.
